Debunking settled assumptions and confirming the opposite, Kano State government has just revealed that more Christians than Muslims died from the Boko Haram attacks in Kano, just as it also said that more Christians than Muslims benefited from the disbursement of N200m received as donations from corporate bodies, groups and individuals for the January 20, 2012 Boko Haram attack in Kano, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said.

Kwankwaso, who made the observation in Kano yesterday, when the Speaker of the State House Assembly, Alhaji Gambo Salau, led members of the Assembly to condole with him over the unfortunate incident which led to the loss of over 200 lives, disclosed to the delegation that the state government has started sharing N1m each to identified families of the victims, pointing out that from what have  been given out so far, “we have more Christians  than Muslim beneficiaries of the gesture.”

Also, the governor hinted that the committee charged with the disbursement of the funds was still screening claims by families of victims to determine the authenticity of such claimants, even as he expressed his government’s gratitude to the CBN’S governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi for his N100 million donation in support of the victims.

He appealed to religious leaders particularly, to guard against inflammatory comments that could influence the conduct of their followers.   This is in apparent response to the statement credited to Christian Association President, Pastor  Oristejafor to the effect that Christians and churches have remained targets of attack in the Northern states, a statement which most Northern leaders have frowned at.

The committee charged with the responsibility of disbursement of the funds said of the 185 victims identified so far, five were senior Police officers, whose families got N1.5 million each while the other 156 bereaved families got N1 million each.

We all know Christians and Churches are their target. Boko haram are the Islamic wing of Islamiaing Nigeria. But I`m sure God will not let that happen.

  • With UPS as our shipping carrier your shipping time will be super quick. Our 24 hour turn-around pledge is not something that we take casually, it really takes place. The device shows up at our shop, we fix it, and it customarily ships back out that day, but definitely ships back out within 24 hours (occasionally longer for water damage).
