Member representing Owan federal constituency, Hon Pally Iriase, said that the lower chamber refused to be distracted by what he described as the antics of some individuals determined to divide the House over the probe of the activities of marketers in the Oil sector.

It would be recalled that a yet to be identified group had in an advertorial accused a group of 57 powerful federal lawmakers of an attempt to subvert justice in the ongoing probe of major key players in the Oil and Gas industry.

The federal lawmaker who spoke in Benin City, Edo State at an  enlarged State executive meeting of the ruling A C N also said that  when  subsidy was removed  in one swoop, the president said that there was no going back but however maintained that the National  Assembly stood and ensured that the government shifted ground.

While describing the move by a faceless group in an advertorial to drag the image of the chamber into disrepute on the ongoing probe he said that it was a failed attempt to break the ranks of federal lawmakers.

‘I want to assure you that the so called group of 57 does not exist in the assembly and if you read through the line in the advert they actually threw out the cart out of the bag by now talking about individual and 57 people cannot be talking like that, they were addressing the national assembly as if it was the national assembly addressing that advert. So it was a failed attempt to bring the assembly to ridicule and break the ranks of the lawmakers.

We are here to ensure that the right thing is done to the benefit of all Nigerians’
