Lawal Kaita, the close ally of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who famously promised in October 2010 that the North would make Nigeria ungovernable for President Jonathan if he won the 2011 election is again spitting fire.

This time around he is insisting that a Northerner must emerge by 2015 or there would be no Nigeria.

Kaita said “We hear rumours all over that Jonathan is planning to contest in 2015. Well, the north is going to be prepared if the country remains one.

That is, if the country remains one, we are going to fight for it. If not, everybody can go his way,” he said in an interview in Katsina. Lawal Kaita said the recent stand of the party on consensus was a total negation of the motive behind forming the party.

It may be recalled that Alhaji Lawal Kaita had said in October 2010 that “The North is determined, if that happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power on the platform of the PDP against the principle of the party’s zoning policy”.

Kaita, founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and close ally of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, had at that time warned that the North should not be blamed for the calamity that will befall the country, if Jonathan emerges President.

Now, if Nigerians had thought that Kaita was joking, his own principal, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, had come out openly on the 14th of December 2010 to say ” Let me again send another message to the leadership of our great country, especially the political leadership that those who make peaceful change impossible, make violent change inevitable.”

Kaita, who described the emergence of the Bamanga Tukur-led NWC of the party as a grand ploy by President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 presidential race, said the north would ensure he never succeeds.

He stated: “It is a disgrace that a party like PDP is running away from election. I am one of the G18 members who founded the PDP and we formed the party because of our firm belief in election. I have contested election five or six times. We believed in election, but now the whole thing has collapsed”.

“They are running away from election. This entire consensus thing doesn’t make sense. For us who formed the PDP, we regret what is happening now. Ten candidates, overnight, all stepping down for one person! All the candidates were renowned and each of them is capable of running the party, but they all withdrew…”

Kaita, who was a governor of the old Kaduna State, insisted that the just concluded national convention of the PDP was devoid of excitement, noting: “Tukur is a highly qualified person but the fact that he allowed himself to be used as Jonathan’s candidate is what has lowered his status.”

I guess all this venom in most of the comments against the Hausa Fulani, is informed by ignorance a life time of brainwashing in xenophobia for the far North. This is sad and unfortunate. Young people seem unable to think intelligently. Their views are blinded by hatred and bad tribal sentiments.I have lived and worked in the many parts of the South. There are many Southers that feel safer leaving with the Hausa Fulani. And I have witnessed the cruelty and tyranny of Southern leaders to their own people. So let the country divide. It might set every one free.

Northerns, are just beaten around the bush. If their like, they should go ahead with their evil thought. The fact remains that come rain, come sunshine, they’ll not emerge come 2015. Its turn of Ndigbo.

  • Finian says:

Kaita should be taken to psychiatric test. I doubt he wl live to see the 2015. Bcos he wl die wt his Boko Haram syndrome

Your SS, SE, & Middle Belt alliance are strange Bed-fellows doomed to failure without aligning with, you guessed it S.W!

    • Bioseh says:

      @Ola
By your statement, you seem to have imbibed the Hausa/Fulani all or nothing syndrome. The SW should not toe the path of inherent superior partner, which is the Hausa/Fulani undoing.

It is a very dangerous mindset and you should know better than that. I think Nigerians should always work for the greater good of the greater number of its citizens period.

Sourtherners are always talking about oil. What does the oil doing 4 u? Large allocation is always given 2 ur states and yet 90% of ur people still surffering, no roads no good food no good shelter ashame of ur self and even if Nigeria is divided nothing is going 2 happen 2 d north by God grace, we must eat good we must have better houses 2 live. What of d rest of world countries that does’nt have oil are they not living peaceful? Shame on u thieves.

    • Bioseh says:

If Northerners have ruled Nigeria 80% of the time, since independence, then 80% of the misrule of Nigeria falls on the North. 80% of the almajiri problem, 80% of the decays in education, infrastructure and healthcare are all attributable to Northern leadership.

We know where the North is taking us, because we have been there. I wish power eludes the core North in 2015 and I bet you, nobody will fight to keep them in Nigeria.

  • James Okpeme says:

    Hey!

    Alhaji Lawal Kaita.

Your A Northerner Must Emerge in 2015 Or Nigeria Will Divide puts a shiver in our bone and spine. We are scared to death. The boogie man will leave our neck and go away and we should be scared? Death and massacre will leave us and we should be scared. Don’t you see that you do not make common sense. Our slave masters will become a commoner, shouldn’t we all be happy about that? All the minorities in the north will disown their old masters for good. They will elect their own and not the ones appointed by the Sultan.

  • Chairman says:

But why wait till 2015? I am very angry that what this person said may not take place, aut least not very soon because his freind atiku will not agree with him because of his oil wells in the south, others like babangida, aminu jubril, danjuma and a host of them from there all because of their oil blocks even the person himself will not want it, the old COW is simply blufing.

  • Ushie Daniel says:

  • Eng. Philip Udegbunam says:

    @ SOETAN

You captured Kaita with the right wordings….free Nigeria citizens endured such Northern Muslim impunity for 40yrs….and SHOULDNT again. Brave comment man!

I dont know much about this Keita, but from his poor utterings, one could deduce his level of literacy.

Waaaooooh..now we can see more and more in the public, the level of reasoning these so-called leaders have been using to the lead the Nigeria-experiment. Huuuh

  • Aminu says:

Please make una no mind confused old man lyk kaita, people above 60 should either leave political arena or be hang, why not?, they cause our all our doom, and continues to hide behind religion, regions and tribe to continues blindfolding us the way they do to our fathers till date, and when they make mess of things as they prophecies ( God forbids) you won’t find the idiots neither their family within our shores.

  • James says:

This man called Kaita doesn’t have sense at all. May be old age has affected his brains. Moreover, he should be warned to mind his speech. A cattle rearer is always a cattle rearer no matter how much you try to force him into civilization.

  • Vika Dennis says:

Alhaja Kaita shuld be charge wit teasonable act. Dis man & his alley are d brain behind d formation of Boko haram. We don’t need a prophet to tell us dat all d BH killing in d north are masterminded by them.

  • De says:

I don`t know why Nigeria is a lawless country, what further prove does the govt need, to know that this man and his ally(Atiku) are the sponsors of boko haram. They`ve said all what is needed to be captured and locked up forever. America was right to say Nigeria will split by 2015, even if it doesn`t then people like Lawal Kaita will have to commit suicide for their plans will always fail.

  • De says:

Mr Kaita or whatsoever you call yourself, if you`ll speak, then speak for the Muslim North and not the entire north. For we voted for Goodluck in the last election and we`ll do so again come 2015.

  • Manfred Soetan says:

If notable Northerners, especially the younger ones don’t come out in droves to disown this clown Kaita, then the North (not Nigeria) is doomed. Remarks like these remind Southerners of the abominable Northern impunity that lasted almost 40 years from the fall of Ironsi. It is an impunity the other ethnic group (mine) and other southern tribes (except the Igbos) allowed, to the regret of the entire South to this day. So, while the South tries to figure out a way to repair the damage done, someone like tribalist Kaita comes from no where to inflame Southern passions. Well, Mr Government pikin Kaita, brig it on and see what happens in 2015. I can assure you that if the rest of your ilk decide to tow your destructive line, rivers Niger and Benue will turn red; and with the recent power dynamics (not the silly Southern follies of 1967), your side will be losing and losing big. You would wish that you nev dared, and you would prefer to have had a Gideon Orka. We await

    • No SW benefits from the status quo this is why they aligned with the north and always align with the north. They seem like Nigerian mediators, gaining from both sides of the same coin. It is beginning to be exposed that the first coup in Nigeria was meant to install a Yoruba man Obafemi Awolowo and Igbos paid for it and Awo starved the Igbos to death. When the north started killing the Igbos, the West followed the north even in the killing. It is all in the Youtube guys. This is the reason the SW are left out in the new union of SS, SE and Middle Belt.

      • prologigbinoba says:

Rewriting history seems to be ommon for every igbo. But I won’t let you tell lies here, there were no massacres in Yorubaland and the igbo community in Yorubaland especially Lagos were going on to their day to day business. And one more thing: I am an Edo, and I want you to know that the SS will chose Yoruba instead of Igbo at anytime. Dickhead.

        • Idika Offor says:

Go and serve your masters boyi, up north like your father Enahoro did, Igbos made him who he was. Who after his hate come to apologize to the Igbos. When he was on the run for his life, who was on the hunt? We are one tribe the whole Nigeria gang up against in conspiracy, do we care? No, keep conspiring. Our SUN will shine on you, keep living in darkness with hate. ACN and CPC old gang exposed at work to day, bury your shithead in hate. You want peace we give you peace, you want war we give war either way your hatred will lose.

  • Yohanna says:

If nigeria divide who is at risk? My friend before u said that a thousand and one had already said that long before now ok? I know by GOD‘S grace an old man like u should not be living by that year!
